Camo Words (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is published by Lavation. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use the Camo Words mobile application and website at camowords.com (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
Information stored on your device
Camo Words does not require an account. Game progress, settings, achievements, streaks, hint tokens, and similar gameplay data are stored locally on your device using on-device storage (for example, localStorage in the app shell). This data stays on your device unless you delete the app or clear app data.
Notification preferences
If you enable reminders in Field Config, the app may schedule local notifications on your device (for example, a morning daily-briefing reminder and an evening streak warning). These notifications are generated on your device and do not require us to collect personal information on our servers.
Push notification tokens
If you enable notifications and grant permission on a supported device, the app may register for push notifications through Apple Push Notification service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). A device token may be stored locally on your device. We do not operate a user account system that links that token to your identity unless we later add optional account features and update this policy.
Purchases
If you buy Remove Ads or restore purchases, payment processing is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive purchase confirmation from the store platform to unlock features in the app. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Advertising
Free users may see ads served through Google AdMob, including rewarded video ads (for optional hints) and interstitial ads after puzzle completions. AdMob and its partners may collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, IP address, and interaction data to serve and measure ads. Website
Our promotional website is static and does not use analytics cookies or sign-in forms at this time. Standard web server logs from our hosting provider may include IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
Contact form
If you submit our contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject, and message you provide so we can respond. Do not include sensitive personal information unless necessary.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and improve gameplay, daily missions, achievements, and settings
- Deliver optional local and push reminders you enable
- Process in-app purchases and ad-supported features
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with:
- Apple and Google — app distribution, billing, and store policies
- Google AdMob — advertising in the free version of the app
- Firebase / Google — push notification delivery when enabled
- Service providers — hosting or infrastructure that helps operate the Service, under confidentiality obligations
- Legal requirements — when required by law or to protect rights and safety
4. Your Choices
- Ads: Purchase Remove Ads to disable ads and receive unlimited hints, or limit ad tracking in your device settings (Limit Ad Tracking / Opt out of Ads Personalization).
- Notifications: Turn off reminders in Field Config or disable notifications for Camo Words in system settings.
- Local data: Delete the app or clear app storage to remove on-device progress.
5. Children’s Privacy
Camo Words is a casual word puzzle game intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
6. Data Retention
Gameplay data remains on your device until you delete it. Server-side logs and ad-network data are retained according to our providers’ policies and operational needs.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the Service, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. International Users
If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
